It’s All About Forgiveness

Watched Fox and Friends at the gym this morning while I was on the treadmill. They interviewed Victoria Ruvolo who suffered injuries in an automobile accident as a result of teenagers throwing a frozen turkey at her windshield. She wrote a book with her doctor No Room For Vengeance: In Justice and Healing about her experience. I have ordered it. It is a perfect real life story about the importance of forgiveness. She said in the interview that if she had not forgiven she would still be healing. Forgiving released her so she could go on with her life. Don’t know where I got this quote from “Forgiveness is mercy in action”. “Compassion is wisdom in action”.

It took me a long time to forgive my parents and even longer to forgive myself. Free at last! The message here is that any negative emotion such as vengeance will interfere with the health and well being of the physical body as well as the emotional and spiritual bodies. Be so very deliberate about what you think and feel.
Love this taken from the introduction…”The point is we have all been victims at some point in our lives. When we are, we face two choices: getting dark and angry and retaliating against the individual or group we believe was responsible, or finding a more positive and responsible way to proceed. We are all connected; our actions have the potential to hurt others, whether we intend them to do so or not. How we proceed depends on our awareness and our willingness to think through how our actions may impact others….” Robert Goldman J.D.,Psy.D
